Soo Fukamushi Kabusecha
Soo Fukamushi Kabusecha
This year, we have selected this fabulous kabusecha fukamushi green from the tea fields at Soo on Japan's Kagoshima Island. Kabusecha greens are shaded for up to a week, to increase the roundness of flavour and umami of the tea, whilst 'fukamushi' means that the tea has gone through a longer steaming process than classical Japanese greens. The result here is a full-bodied, aromatic and juicy tea, which retains a pleasant lightness of character - it's maker, Mataki-san, named the tea Furusato no Hana, meaning 'flowers from my hometown'. A nostalgic name for a tea that you won't quickly forget.
The quality of this tea has been recognised with multiple awards, which we are sure you will agree it more than deserves. Also highly recommendable when brewed cold.
