June - Introduction to Japanese teas
June - Introduction to Japanese teas
Japanese teas are firm favourites among us and our customers. You might be best acquainted with steamed Japanese greens, like sencha. While we will of course be tasting a sencha - how could we not! - we won't forget shaded greens, powdered matcha tea or the elegant and aromatic Japanese black teas. We'll even try a more rare, Japanese oolong, which is quite different from it's Taiwanese or Chinese cousins.
Japanese teas have earned their place as some of the most well-known and appreciated teas of the world. The first sip of a good Japanese green can open your your eyes to the world of speciality teas - that was certainly the case for a few of us. If you're new to speciality tea this workshop is therefore a great place to start. And if you're already a fan, look forward to trying some truly excellent teas and learning more about your favourites and how they're made.
All questions are welcome - we can't wait to taste, talk and enjoy with you :)
Courses take place at the rami tea house, with a maximum of 6 participants.
