This traditional matcha whisk is hand-carved from a single piece of bamboo, engineered to produce a smooth, consistent foam with every use. Available in two variants to suit different whisking preferences.
Dark Bamboo — 100 Prongs
Deep bamboo tone with 100 fine prongs, producing a finer, dense, velvety foam.
Light Bamboo — 80 Prongs
Natural, pale bamboo with 80 prongs, creates firmer foam.
Dimensions: 10.2 cm (L) × 2.6–6 cm (W)
Before first use, soak the chasen in hot water for a few minutes to loosen the prongs.
Before each use after that, soak it briefly in warm water to maintain flexibility and reduce the risk of breakage. Clean with warm water only, avoiding soap or detergents.
Store with the handle facing up to avoid moisture retention, ideally on a chasen stand, to preserve its shape.
