tree resin  - elderflower - birch sap

Wild-harvested dewy buds from ancient trees deep in Yunnan's forests, naturally caffeine-free.

This tea is made from the dormant branch buds of ancient wild Camellia trees in the small Nanmei Valley, Yunnan. These trees grow freely in the middle of the forest, several hours walk from the nearest village, at altitudes between 2,400 and 3,000 metres. The buds are harvested entirely by hand and sun dried. The result sits entirely outside familiar tea categories.

In the cup: flowery, resinous, wonderfully fruity, with a clean balsamic sweetness that lingers. Soft and full in texture, wild and unhurried in character. A tea for a gong fu experience in the late evening - and also wonderful as a cold brew.

We are happy to offer this tea in collaboration with Olivier Schneider, a tea expert with over 20 years of experience researching Pu'er taste, processing and culture. Together with Mrs. O Yang, with whom he began this production in 2013, he has spent years refining a tea that has no comparison on the market - and whose laboratory analysis has confirmed the complete absence of caffeine.

brewing: 1tsp (2-3g) per cup | 80°C | 4-5min

This tea can handle boiling water, large teapots, or numerous gaiwan infusions, and is also excellent as cold brew.
