Imereti Forest Sun
Imereti Forest Sun
This black tea is hand-crafted in the pristine mountains of Imereti, at 700 meters above sea level. The tender buds and the first leaves used in this tea have been hand-picked in early spring, from re-wilded tea bushes growing in the forests surrounding the tea maker's secluded home.
The smooth and balanced body, gentle tannins and distinct sweetness make this tea a go-to for us in the mornings. There are hints of dark berries and dried fruit, as well as a light woodiness and subtle spices.
The brew produces a delicate red color, and it brings us a soothing, almost nostalgic sense of quiet moments, like when afternoon sunlight filters through the trees of your favourite forest.
If you want to explore Georgian teas and flavors of the Imereti region further, do have a look at the white tea from these very same re-wilded tea forests. Imereti wild spring is made in the same little mountain manufactory (and from the same spring harvest) and shows the fresh and vibrant counterpart of these tea leaves.
Imereti Forest Sun is ideal for both western-style single steeping and gong fu brewing, revealing different dimensions of flavor with each infusion.
