Giddapahar Delight First Flush Darjeeling - SFTGFOP1

Darjeeling first flush teas are the first teas produced after winter. They are very highly sought after for their lively, fresh and sparkling character and their light floral aromas. First flushes are not as heavily oxidised as normal black teas to allow them to fully express their potential, despite their delicacy.

This first flush was selected from the small, Giddapahar Tea Estate, a fourth generation family estate, purchased in 1888 by the Shaw family. Heirloom Chinese varietals and other clonal varietals grow on the gentle slopes of the misty Kurseong Valley at around 1500m above sea level. The leaves are then crafted into teas which are sought after by tea connoisseurs for their exceptional quality.

The first sip of a year's Darjeeling is one to savour and the Giddapahar Delight doesn't disappoint. It is light but complex with a balanced astringency, pronounced sweetness and delightful, floral aromas. Don't miss out on enjoying it also as a cold brew!
