Fukamushi Sencha Saemidori

Fukamushi-cha describes a group of ‘deep-steamed’ Japanese green teas. The leaves are steamed for twice as long as other senchas, giving them a characteristically rich and bold flavour.  The leaves for this premium fukamushi sencha were grown in natural gardens in the hilly area below the Kirishima volcano. The saemidori cultivor, often reserved for the highest grade gyokuro green teas, was selected to make this fukamushi sencha, which has resulted in a tea that is ful and sweet with a pleasant nuttiness and intense vegetal freshness.

This tea is fantastic and uncomplicated for traditional multiple brewing and is excellent brewed cold.
