A wonderful delicate, delicious Matcha from famous Uji: tencha (green tea) leaves freshly milled into fine powder.

This Matcha is produced by the 5th generation, family-run Uejima tea farm. After 25 days of shading, carefully machine-harvested leaves from the Samidori and Gokō cultivar are hand-selected and made into Tencha, which is then milled to order with traditional stone mills, to guarantee highest freshness for its arrival at our tea shop.

Tempaku 天伯 could be translated to "god of the skies" - a tribute the the elegance of this Matcha. It offers a smooth, rich flavor with an impressive natural umami sweetness, a silky mouthfeel and a refreshing aftertaste. Whether you prefer the lightness of Usucha (thin tea) or the deeper intensity of Koicha (thick tea) for tea ceremonies, Tempaku provides the perfect balance for both.

A beautiful, sparkly full green for your favourite matcha bowl and a satisfying, energising feeling.

This matcha comes in washi-paper covered tins of different designs, which are chosen randomly.

preparation

Soak your whisk in warm water before use to prevent breaking.

Usucha (thin tea): Sieve two heaped matcha spoons (2g) of the powdered tea into your bowl. Add about 100ml of 60°-70°c water. Gently mix with a bamboo whisk and then start whisking until a fine, thick foam forms on the surface of the tea. 

Also suitable for Koicha. Blend 4g of Matcha with 30ml of 60°-70° water and knead gently with your chasen.
