‘Winter petal’ or dong pian oolongs are special oolongs harvested during short periods of warm weather in the winter months, where the tea plants come out of dormancy to produce small buds. It is of course a limited harvest and creates a very special tea where small, silvery buds can be observed. The tea is lightly oxidised, very drinkable and has distinct lilac and lily aromas.
This dong pian is from Mr. Chen’s naturally run tea gardens in Ming Jian, Taiwan.
