Wakocha Benifuuki

This Japanese black tea is mellow but beautifully aromatic.

It comes from Toshihiro Kajihara’s family farm in Tsuge on the island of Kyushu, where fog regularly passes through the mountain foothills, and tea plants grow wild in the forests. It is with leaves from those wild growing tea plants that Mr. Kajihara’s grandfather started the family tea production that has expanded to 2 hectares of organically growing tea fields today.

This specific black tea comes from the first harvest of the Benifuuki cultivar and has a sweet, soft, mellow taste and excellent aroma. If you would like to get to know Japanese black teas further, you can compare this tea with our wakoucha from the same farm but from the second harvest of Yabukita cultivar.
