2008 Xi Zi Hao Xi Shang Jia Xi Shu Pu-Erh

An outstanding, strong but relaxing shu (ripe) pu’er tea from wild growing trees.

Leaves from the spring harvest of old tea trees growing at around 1800m altitude were fermented for several weeks and then taken to mature in a dry, ventilated warehouse in Taiwan. This tea is a private production of the Taiwanese company Xi Zi Hao.

The liquor is delicious, very dense, smooth, almost creamy, noticeably something special with surprising sweet almond undertones. The bodyfeel is slightly relaxing and very uplifting.

flavour profile: sweet almond, wood-fire, smooth, creamy, dense, full
